Children and Youth Programme

Ages 6–17: safe, non-contact and fun

Children and Youth Programme

A non-contact combat sports programme split into three age groups that builds discipline, confidence and coordination.

Membership 1,500 TRY/month

Our children and youth programme is built on basic movement skills, confidence and respect before competition. There is no contact to the face; instead of sparring, controlled technique games are used. Our programme is split into three age groups: Mini (6–9), Junior (10–13) and Youth (14–17).

Basic principles of the programme

  • Safety: Protective equipment, small groups (at most 12 children) and a second assistant coach in every class.
  • Discipline and respect: Greeting, waiting for a turn, respect for your partner.
  • Fun: Play-based warm-ups, obstacle courses and team contests.
  • Anti-bullying: Teaches children to set boundaries, say "no" and ask for help.

Disciplines

The Mini group has all-round movement and basic judo/boxing movements; the Junior group has a choice of boxing, kickboxing or BJJ; the Youth group has technical deepening in the chosen discipline and competition preparation for those who want it.

Information for parents

A parent briefing meeting is held every quarter. Classes can be watched from the parents' viewing area. The child's medical report, guardian consent and emergency contact details are taken at registration. For very active children or those with attention difficulties or anxiety, a preliminary interview determines the right group.

Competitions for under-18s are held under federation rules with guardian permission.

Frequently asked questions

I have never exercised; can I start combat sports?
Yes. Beginner groups are non-contact for the first 4–6 weeks; stance, footwork and basic strikes are taught. Most of our members started with no sports background.
Is a medical report compulsory?
Yes. A report issued within the last 6 months stating that there is no obstacle to combat sports is required. Sports physician approval is requested for cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, eye problems, disc herniation, a history of head trauma or pregnancy.
Is sparring compulsory; will I be hit in the head?
No. Sparring is done only with those who choose the relevant group, under coach supervision, with level and weight matching. There is no contact to the face in beginner and children's groups.
What equipment should I buy?
In the first session equipment is from the academy. Afterwards boxing gloves (12–14 oz), wraps, a mouthguard and clean sportswear are enough. BJJ needs a kimono and rashguard; sparring needs headgear and shin guards.
At what age can my child start?
From age 6 they can join the Mini group. Programmes are non-contact and play-based. Guardian consent and a medical report are needed.
