MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)

Striking, wrestling and ground fighting together

MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)

A complete programme combining boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and BJJ, with cage work and controlled sparring.

All-disciplines membership 2,600 TRY/month

MMA combines standing striking, the clinch, takedowns and ground fighting in a single system. In our academy the MMA programme first settles the base disciplines separately, then works on transitions and strategy together. This approach reduces injury risk and makes the athlete a complete fighter.

Programme structure

  • Striking (2 a week): Boxing and kickboxing-based combinations.
  • Wrestling and takedowns (1 a week): Single/double leg, clinch control, cage wall.
  • Ground fighting (1–2 a week): BJJ-based positions, transitions and submissions.
  • Conditioning and sparring: At regular, controlled intensity, only under coach supervision.

Cage and equipment

The Ümraniye and Başakşehir gyms have a 6-metre MMA cage. In sparring 4–6 oz MMA gloves, a mouthguard, shin guards and groin guard are required. Beginners first take the 8-week "MMA Foundations" programme to settle their boxing and BJJ base.

How long until you can compete?

For most athletes preparation for an amateur MMA competition takes 12–18 months. This varies with the athlete's background. Amateur competitions are held under federation rules with headgear and protective equipment. Because of head trauma risk, athletes have two sports physician checks a year.

Frequently asked questions

I have never exercised; can I start combat sports?
Yes. Beginner groups are non-contact for the first 4–6 weeks; stance, footwork and basic strikes are taught. Most of our members started with no sports background.
Is a medical report compulsory?
Yes. A report issued within the last 6 months stating that there is no obstacle to combat sports is required. Sports physician approval is requested for cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, eye problems, disc herniation, a history of head trauma or pregnancy.
Is sparring compulsory; will I be hit in the head?
No. Sparring is done only with those who choose the relevant group, under coach supervision, with level and weight matching. There is no contact to the face in beginner and children's groups.
What equipment should I buy?
In the first session equipment is from the academy. Afterwards boxing gloves (12–14 oz), wraps, a mouthguard and clean sportswear are enough. BJJ needs a kimono and rashguard; sparring needs headgear and shin guards.
At what age can my child start?
From age 6 they can join the Mini group. Programmes are non-contact and play-based. Guardian consent and a medical report are needed.
